Semantic overload refers to words or phrases that have more that one meaning; sometimes meanings that are at complete odds with what we thought they meant. A perfect example of this are the virtue signalling signs that we have all seen in yards. But what are they really trying to say?
With the Bostock SCOTUS ruling, comes a feeling that devoutly religious Americans are being told to keep their faith out of the public square. Far from being progressive, it is actually regressive in that the ruling hints at a future rooted in a past where Christians were second-class citizens.
