As our public institutions and even our churches are waning in effectiveness and influence, Christian congregations, in order to survive and grow, may need to start looking at not just at the Christian aesthetics of the past, but the actual mission of the church of the past.
Recently a priest I knew passed away. One that I had known since and served as an altar server with in my youth. Looking back at his life, I can see how he was in many ways the model of a good shepherd.
Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Roe vs. Wade ruling, and it is important to remember that amidst (and right below) all of the legal wranglings that the SCOTUS is now considering, lies something very dark and bloody- an demonic machine that keeps the culture of death humming along.
